    • Mandatory sentences of 30 to life with no parole for adults convicted of the rape or attempted rape of a victim under age 12.
  2. Create Erica's Law (HB 1298)
       Sponsor: Rep. Paul LeVota
    • Expand first degree murder to include the heinous killing of a child
    • Requires adults residing in a household with a child to report suspected abuse
  3. Increase restrictions for convicted sexual predators (HB 1066)
       Sponsor: Rep. Jeff Harris
    • This bill would prohibit convicted sexual predators from being released on bond while their cases are being appealed.
  4. Prohibit the sale of violent or sexually explicit video games to minors (HB 1467)
       Sponsor: Rep. Jeff Harris
  5. Restrict the sale of liquid gel tablets to reduce availability for methamphetamine manufacturers (HB 1839)

  6. Increase penalties for methamphetamine manufacturers (HB 1438)

    • Increases the penalty for possession of any methamphetamine precursor drug with the intent to manufacture amphetamine or methamphetamine to a class C felony.
  7. Improve law enforcement officers' ability to collect evidence in sexual assault cases (HB 1107)

    • Requires Highway Patrol to develop evidence collection kits for forensic examination of victims of sexual assault and distribute to medical providers who conduct exams.
    • Allow only licensed physicians to conduct forensic exams for sexual assaults.
    • Extend the time within which medical providers must file their report of a forensic exam.
    • Prohibits medical providers from charging the victim for the exam.
    • Requires hospitals to have at least one evidentiary collection kit at all times.
    • Requires the Department of Health and Senior Services to develop a treatment checklist for assault victims.
  8. Establish the Healthy Drinks for Healthy Children Act of 2006 (HB 1417)

    • This act establishes limits on the types of beverages that can be sold in Missouri's public schools.
  9. Increase child care subsidy benefits (HB 1052)
       Sponsor: Rep. Cathy Jolly
    • This bill increases the income eligibility guidelines for receiving child care subsidy benefits to 185 percent the federal poverty limit.
  10. Stiffen penalties for sex offenders (HB 1108)
       Sponsor: Rep. Kate Meiners
    • This bill requires a person who commits sexual crimes against a child younger than 12 years old to serve a minimum three year sentence in prison before being placed on probation or parole.
  11. Creates the Poison Prevention Task Force (HB 1125)
       Sponsor: Rep. Ed Wildberger
    • This bill, in addition to the creation of the Poison Prevention Task Force,  requires manufacturers of toxic household products to add an aversion agent to the product to serve as a poison prevention measure.
  12. Improve child support enforcement (HB 1483)
       Sponsor: Rep. Sara Lampe
    • Permits cell phone and Internet service provider records to be searched by law enforcement officers for the purposes of child support enforcement.
